Laurence is an experienced business development professional, having worked in the media and events marketplace for over 20 years.

Laurence assisted with the launch and was the commercial manager for Asian Lawyer in Hong Kong from 1995 to 2000, and then for Asian Legal Business (ALB) from 2001 to 2006. He worked closely with law firms, identifying their needs and objectives through advertising and thought leadership, which contributed to these publications becoming household names within the regional legal industry. The success of these platforms resulted in the creation of a legal events division, which included the ALB Law Awards and ALB In-House Legal Summits. Laurence led the commercial development for both sets of events bringing in major sponsors and stakeholders.

After 11 years working directly with law firms, Laurence broadened his commercial relationships in thought leadership and events by joining The Economist and then the Financial Times, where he worked with clients such as HSBC, Barclays, Google, Rockefeller Foundation, State Street Global Advisors, EY, KPMG, Accenture and McKinsey.

At Lextel, Laurence leads the partnerships team, working with client law firms to find solutions to their business development goals through successful thought leadership campaigns and the creation of professional submissions for awards and directories.
